The New! EC Forged Rod for the 236RX Engine Kits.
Our EC Forged Rod is designed specifically for our EC Forged 72mm Piston and Wildcat 58mm crankshaft to turn your Tillotson 225 into the EC's 236RX Engine. This rod is a little longer than the 8279 connecting rod; if you use this rod with the Tillotson 72mm piston, you will have a piston pop-up. Always ensure that the crankshaft, connecting rod, and piston meet your deck height, or the piston may be under or over the deck of the block, which can affect clearances and may require more machining.
The New Rods are black anodized to protect the connecting rod from knicks and oxidation. Oxidation can occur as engine oil becomes acidic due to breakdown and fuel dilution, as well as water that is absorbed by methanol and ethanol fuels.
